Beer Review: Lazy Boy Lager – Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.

A lager for today’s review. A style, which despite probably being the world’s favourite beer style, is hard to find craft varieties of. Pale ales and IPA’s are the name of the game. As such always nice to see what twist breweries can put on a lager because often a lager is exactly what you want. This is Tiny Rebel’s Helles style lager Lazy Boy coming in at 4.3% ABV.

The beer pours a nice pale gold. As you can see from the picture plenty of bubbles rolling up the glass giving us a well carbonated lager. On the nose the beer has a light sweet or fruity aroma and certainly has the malt coming through. That malt is also very evident in the taste as it’s adding that light mouth feel with a touch of sweetness. Perfect straight out of the fridge this one. Very crisp and fresh, clean drinking beer that goes down like a charm.

A quick note on the can art: In all honesty not too much to say about this one. Probably the plainest of the Tiny Rebel designs.

I feel like I’m not doing a beer justice sometimes when I don’t go into minute detail about it. This is a good beer as basic as the review comes across, for me at least. I think of all the styles, if there was one who’s motto should be ‘Keep it Simple’ it’s the lager. When you crack upon a lager you want something smooth and easy drinking, this simply has the added benefit that there is a lovely malty flavour that enhances the basics. Very good and one of the better craft lagers of recent memory for my taste.

Score: 8/10

Thanks for taking the time to read! Cheers!
