Today’s review is going to be on the Session Edition of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.’s ‘Hazy Little Thing’ IPA!
Hazy Little Thing is a classic 4.6% ABV IPA. The citrus, grapefruit nose is very pleasant. The beer itself is light and refreshing but equally has a good hop to it as you would expect from a a good IPA. In terms of IPAs as a whole however, it is nothing super special. I personally prefer Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale over this .
Despite this, it is good to see breweries offering lighter, session-able versions of their popular beers. Often times, the beers you love are heading into the higher end of the ABV scale meaning you have to hold yourself back because if you’re not careful, you’re on the floor before you know it. So big props to Sierra Nevada for providing an alternative to their 6.7% IPA.
Quick note on the can art: The purple and yellow is really lovely and helps it stand out on the shelves. Not sure anything can beat the gorgeous art on their Pale Ale however.
Overall, for me personally, a really solid beer. Despite it not being incredible, at the end of the day it is a refreshing, good tasting beer and one perfect for easing yourself into the craft beer scene if you’re not sure on the flavours yet.
Thanks for reading!
