Today’s review is on Northern Monk’s hazy pale ale ‘Faith’. I’d heard good things about this brewery so was very excited about trying my first beer from them!
Visually the beer has a great hazy, straw colour to it. Really good carbonation made for a lovely white head. On the nose I got nice notes of orange peel. The flavour, however is where this beer shines for me personally. Wow! Lovely light, citrus and tropical taste with a really good hint of bitterness on the finish. It’s got a slight hop to it but importantly it is incredibly smooth to drink and super refreshing. At 5.4% I’d say this is a very dangerous beer because I could very easily see myself knocking a few of these back no problem.
A quick note on the can art: I really like the design of this. The Angel of the North and rolling hills in the background with the orange hue is really aesthetic!
Overall, as is probably evident from the review, I love this beer. This is easily one of the best pale ales I’ve ever had. It’s incredibly easy to drink and got great flavour. Northern Monk like to use the tagline ‘You’ve got to have Faith’ and I couldn’t agree more. Will definitely be picking up more of this in the future!
Thanks for reading!
