Returning to a beer I picked up in Lidl during their beer festival. Feels like that was an age ago now! This is the third and final Loch Lomond Brewery beer I picked up and it’s a can of one of their core beers ‘Bravehop’. It’s an IPA coming in at strong-ish 6% ABV. Based on the track record of the previous beers this should be a real treat.
The beer pours an orange gold with a deep haze to it. On the nose there is a light citrus hop with a tinge of stone fruits mixed in as well. On the body, the beer has a fantastically lovely hop to it with those slight stone fruits coming through. The back end is full of flavour without being overbearingly bitter. Leaves you wanting for more.
A quick note on the can art: Another gorgeous aerial photograph that wraps all away around the can. As always a really effective placement of the brewery name and the beer information. Although, it doesn’t photograph so well in the light!
Another really good beer from the folks at Loch Lomond. The beer hides the alcohol very well, I would have definitely guessed something lower around the 4.5/5% ABV mark. The hops really come through on this one with lots of flavour. Is it my favourite of the three I’ve had? No, but that’s more of a testament of how good the others are that this isn’t my favourite! Can’t wait to visit this brewery one day.
