Apologies for the brief hiatus on a stunning holiday in Cornwall at the moment! The time has come however for the last Tiny Rebel review for the foreseeable future as I have finally drank the entire haul I bought well over a month ago. Ending it with another double bill this time as much like the previous one the main difference between the two beers is the ABV. These are ‘Kiss Kiss’ and ‘Bang Bang’ New England IPAs, that I imagine were named after the 2005 Robert Downey Jr. film. Always like a juicy NEIPA so was looking forward to both of these.

First up is ‘Kiss Kiss’ which is the session version of the two beers coming in at 4.5%. Pours pale and hazy with that cloudy apple juicy look. Super punchy tropical nose. Particularly passion fruit, but also pineapple and mango notes mixed in. The beer is super juicy in the flavour with a slight citrus bitterness as well. A really lovely, smooth finish makes this very easy drinking.

Our other beer is ‘Bang Bang’ which is at the more typical NEIPA ABV of 7.2%. Has that similar juicy visual with a more straw colour to it. Closer to pineapple that apple juice in colour. An aroma more of grapefruit and pineapple this time around. Has a similar juicy taste to it with a moreish citrus bitterness on the finish. You can certainly taste the higher ABV but is actually pretty good drinking for that level. Very similar to Kiss Kiss but identifiable as different for sure.

A quick note on the can art: Despite the contents of the cans being quite nice the design aren’t that exciting. Not quite Bang Bang.

Overall, as a pair of beers, these are really good. Both using the same hops (Idaho 7 and Simcoe) and not adding any adjuncts has made the difference in my opinion. Compared to the jam doughnut pairs that didn’t taste remotely similar these certainly do. They are juicy and packed with flavour. Different enough that they are both unique enough experiences. I’d side with the session version simply because I can knock a few more back! Certainly would recommend both of them.
