Beer Review: Porter – Black Isle Brewery

Returning to a Black Isle Brewery beer today. Perhaps the one I was most excited for simply because I haven’t had a porter in ages! People argue that porters aren’t a summer beer but in my opinion beer is for when you want it. It’s probably the style you can be most creative with and still come out with a good beer. This isn’t any … Continue reading Beer Review: Porter – Black Isle Brewery

Beer Review: Wimbledon Pale – Wimbledon Brewery

Today’s review sees us return to a brewery I haven’t had a beer from in a long while. The last Wimbledon Brewery beer I reviewed was their flagship lager. This time around it’s their pale ale, appropriately titled Wimbledon Pale. I thought their lager was nice but nothing really exceptional, which is the vibe I headed into this beer with. Visually we have a clear … Continue reading Beer Review: Wimbledon Pale – Wimbledon Brewery

Beer Review: Shake Down – Tiny Rebel Brew Co.

This is officially the penultimate post of the Tiny Rebel batch of beers. I technically have two beers left to review but they will be done much in the way of the jam doughnut beers as a double review special. This beer is ‘Shake Down’. It is a Mango Vermont IPA, so those NEIPA flavours should be coming through. Brewed with additional mango it comes … Continue reading Beer Review: Shake Down – Tiny Rebel Brew Co.

Beer Review: Blonde – Black Isle Brewery

Back to the Black Isle core range with their unfiltered lager; Blonde. I’ve got some incredibly funky beers on the way from Fourpure so these classic style beers from Black Isle Brewery are a nice intermediary. This lager comes in at a nice 4.5% ABV. Visually the beer has a straw/gold hue to it. The slightest haze coming from the unfiltered nature of the lager. … Continue reading Beer Review: Blonde – Black Isle Brewery

Beer Review: Money Trees – Tiny Rebel Brew Co.

Back today with what may be the third to last review of a Tiny Rebel beer, for a while at least. It’s probably time to expand the beer horizons a bit. Certainly never spoiled for choice. So, this one is ‘Money Trees’ a Citra, Mosiac Vienna Pale. As evident by the description the two hops packed into this one are Citra and Mosaic. Style wise … Continue reading Beer Review: Money Trees – Tiny Rebel Brew Co.

Beer Review: Lazy Boy Lager – Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.

A lager for today’s review. A style, which despite probably being the world’s favourite beer style, is hard to find craft varieties of. Pale ales and IPA’s are the name of the game. As such always nice to see what twist breweries can put on a lager because often a lager is exactly what you want. This is Tiny Rebel’s Helles style lager Lazy Boy … Continue reading Beer Review: Lazy Boy Lager – Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.

Beer Review: Dutty – Tiny Rebel Brew Co.

Today’s beer is from the dwindling remains of my Tiny Rebel beers. I’ve still got a few to go but I’m on the look out now for a new bulk buy to supplement my supermarket pick-ups. So if anyone has any recommendations from their favourite craft breweries drop a comment below! Anyway, this is ‘Dutty’ (but hopefully in the good way) a Vermont session IPA. … Continue reading Beer Review: Dutty – Tiny Rebel Brew Co.

Beer Review: Order of the Faith – Northern Monk x Alpha Delta

Returning to the typically awesome Northern Monk for today’s review with a slight difference; it’s a collaboration beer. This beer has been brewed with up and coming North East brewery Alpha Delta and together have created ‘Order of the Faith’. This is a Double Dry Hopped IPA and a twist on Northern Monk’s amazing core pale ale Faith. The beer pours an amazing golden colour … Continue reading Beer Review: Order of the Faith – Northern Monk x Alpha Delta

Beer Review: Pump Up The Jam // Turn It Up To 11 – Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.

We’ve got something very different for today’s review because it’s not one, but two beers! I’m doing this as a double bill because in essence the two beers are the same. The selection is, of course, from Tiny Rebel and is their jam doughnut pale ale ‘Pump Up The Jam’. However, they have also released an imperial version of this beer, which in essence means … Continue reading Beer Review: Pump Up The Jam // Turn It Up To 11 – Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.
