Beer Review: Shake Down – Tiny Rebel Brew Co.

This is officially the penultimate post of the Tiny Rebel batch of beers. I technically have two beers left to review but they will be done much in the way of the jam doughnut beers as a double review special. This beer is ‘Shake Down’. It is a Mango Vermont IPA, so those NEIPA flavours should be coming through. Brewed with additional mango it comes in at a lovely 4.5% ABV.

A rich gold and super hazy colour to this beer. Has the NEIPA trade mark of looking like a glass of juice. Incredibly appealing. On the nose you get the expected pungent mango aromas coming through. There are additional notes of stone fruits, apricots and peach, that are hidden away in the smell. Those mango flavours are absolutely evident in the flavour as well. A super juicy beer with an ever so slight hop giving it a lovely balance over all. Absolutely packed with flavour and at that level ABV you’d have no trouble sinking a few pints of this.

A quick note on the can art: Very similar to ‘Dutty’ in the design, which makes sense as they are both same style beers. Nothing amazing but the inside of the can does the talking for this beer!

This is easily top 3 of the Tiny Rebel beers so far. Absolutely fantastic beer. Compared to the similar ‘Dutty’, which I did enjoy, this is the better of the two for sure. Maybe I just really like mango but it is a thick, packed beer, full of flavour. If I went to their tap room I can see myself sticking to Shake Down on all night. Thoroughly recommend!

Score: 9/10

Thanks for taking the time to read! Cheers!
