Beer Review: Talking Head – Williams Bros. Brewing Co.

Back with another Scottish craft brew that I picked up from Lidl. This is ‘Talking Head’ (hopefully named after the band) from Williams Bros. Brewing Co. it is a classic American Pale Ale at 4.4% ABV. Interestingly this beer is in an uncharacteristically large 500ml can where most beers come in the 440ml or 330ml variety. So if it’s good it’s more bang for your buck.

The beer pours a great pale straw colour. Fairly clear with evident carbonation rolling up the glass. You get the hop from the aroma quite quickly with a nice mix of tropical fruits as well. It’s got a crisp, citrus, hoppy flavour to it. It’s nothing mind blowing flavour wise but it is a really decent pale ale with good drinkability. The finish has that nice moreish bitterness to it as well.

A quick note on the can art: A pretty funky one this. I like the totemic style that works well with the taller can. The gold blue and white works compliments the style incredibly.

This is value in a can. For £1.49 you’re getting 500ml of crisp, refreshing classic pale ale. The beer is nothing mind blowing with groundbreaking flavours but it is solid. Missed out on this brewery’s other beer featured in the festival which was a chocolate mocha stout. Hopefully the opportunity will rear it’s head soon.

Score: 7/10

Thanks for reading! Cheers!
