Beer Review: Little Mountains We Move – Verdant Brewing Co.

I bought a selection of beers from a fantastic zero waste and bottle shop in Leytonstone, East London called Stone Mini Mart who have an insane range of craft beers at very reasonable prices compared to others I’ve seen. First up from this selection is another beer review from Cornwall’s premier top of the hops brewery Verdant, based down in Falmouth. ‘Little Mountains We Move’ … Continue reading Beer Review: Little Mountains We Move – Verdant Brewing Co.

Beer Review: Verhext – Mondo x St Austell

I’ve actually recently changed jobs but during the last couple of months at my previous site I was stocking quite a few beers from Battersea based Mondo Brewing Company. As a result I got the occasional special thrown my way, one of which is the beer up for review today. ‘Verhext’ is a West Coast IPA brewed with that ever popular Kveik yeast strain. Coming … Continue reading Beer Review: Verhext – Mondo x St Austell

Beer Review: ALLEN – Verdant Brewing Co.

Finally got around to trying the beer that many consider to be the gold standard of regularly available Double IPAs. Cornwall’s premier craft brewery Verdant is well known for the bold DIPA’s but ‘ALLEN’ is the classic that everyone knows. It comes in at 8% an features the hops peoplle know and love; Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra. I’d been looking forward to trying this for a … Continue reading Beer Review: ALLEN – Verdant Brewing Co.

Beer Review: The Future is Uncertain – Verdant Brewing Co.

One of my lovely friends and colleagues at work got me some beer for Christmas, one of which included my favourite South West brewery, the Falmouth based Verdant! ‘The Future is Uncertain’ is an 8% DIPA featuring a triple drop of New Zealand’s finest hops; Motueka, Nelson Sauvin and (a new one for me) Waimea. Visually, the beer looks absolutely insane. Pure mango juice looking … Continue reading Beer Review: The Future is Uncertain – Verdant Brewing Co.

Beer Review: Headband – Verdant Brewing Co.

I’ve got quite a few Verdant Beers in my fridge at the moment, which is a great problem to have as their beers are consistently fantastic. I like to grab their beers when I can simply because they are based in the same town I went to University in: the wonderful Falmouth in Cornwall! ‘Headband’ is one of their more recognizable beers and is regularly … Continue reading Beer Review: Headband – Verdant Brewing Co.

Beer Review: Lobster Tale – Padstow Brewing Co.

Padstow Brewing Comapny, based of course in Padstow, was another new brewery I thought I’d try while I was down in Cornwall last month! The reason I decided to go for this beer specifically, is because 10p of each can sold goes towards the National Lobster Hatchery based in Padstow. It’s a charity that helps conserve vunerbale lobster populations which provide vital income for many … Continue reading Beer Review: Lobster Tale – Padstow Brewing Co.

Beer Review: Doubling Down (Simcoe) – Verdant x Black Flag

Verdant Brewing Company recently released the Doubling Down series. Four single hop Double IPAs brewed in collaboration with three different Cornish breweries. The one I picked up while down in Falmouth was the Simcoe edition which was brewed with Perranporth based Black Flag Brewery. All the beers in the series come in at a respectable 8% ABV to solidify that Double IPA status. Visually the … Continue reading Beer Review: Doubling Down (Simcoe) – Verdant x Black Flag

Beer Review: Back Road East – St Ives Brewery

While on my trip to Cornwall, my friends and I paid the popular seaside town of St Ives a visit. It was only the second time I’d been there since my first year of University. As I always do when I visit somewhere new, I’ve got an eye out for the local bottle shops, breweries and pubs. This time around, the location of choice was … Continue reading Beer Review: Back Road East – St Ives Brewery

Beer Review: People, Money, Space Time – Verdant Brewing Co.

I recently went on holiday to beautiful Cornwall, and more specifically, my old university stomping ground of Falmouth. Falmouth, has recently got a lot more craft beer heavy with a couple of new bottle shops opening up. It is also the home of the wonderful Verdant Brewing Company so of course I had to grab a can or four of their new releases and old … Continue reading Beer Review: People, Money, Space Time – Verdant Brewing Co.

Beer Review: Big Wednesday – Harbour Brewing Co.

It’s Wednesday everybody and as such I’ve gone for an appropriately named beer. ‘Big Wednesday’ is an IPA from Harbour Brewing who are another new brewery for me! They are based out of Bodmin in Cornwall. Those who know me, know that simply being based in Cornwall increases the chance that I will love the beer! It comes in at 5.6% ABV and I picked … Continue reading Beer Review: Big Wednesday – Harbour Brewing Co.
