Beer Review: Otter Ale – Otter Brewery

There has been an absence of posts recently. It has certainly not been because I’ve lost interest I can assure you but I have been on a wonderful holiday with some amazing university friends. And while it may be hard to believe some things really are more important than beer so I haven’t uploaded daily like usual. However, my friends are very supportive of my … Continue reading Beer Review: Otter Ale – Otter Brewery

Beer Review: It’s Great Up North – Northern Monk

Nothing clears up running out of beer like more beer. And there are few better beers than a Northern Monk. This is another from their range at Morrisons which usually knocks it out of the park. ‘It’s Great Up North’ is a pale ale coming in at 4.5% ABV so will be looking for something similar to their amazing ‘Faith’. Pours a pale gold with … Continue reading Beer Review: It’s Great Up North – Northern Monk

Beer Review: Kiss Kiss // Bang Bang – Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.

Apologies for the brief hiatus on a stunning holiday in Cornwall at the moment! The time has come however for the last Tiny Rebel review for the foreseeable future as I have finally drank the entire haul I bought well over a month ago. Ending it with another double bill this time as much like the previous one the main difference between the two beers … Continue reading Beer Review: Kiss Kiss // Bang Bang – Tiny Rebel Brewing Co.

Beer Review: Coastline – Fourpure Brewing Co.

Recently London based Fourpure Brewing Company released six new beers themed around different parts of the world. Pretty funky brews they seemed too. This is not one of those beers. I bought this in addition to that bundle (and the glass of course, got to grow that branded glass collection) as a little treat because I absolutely love sour beers and this one sounded rather … Continue reading Beer Review: Coastline – Fourpure Brewing Co.

Beer Review: Porter – Black Isle Brewery

Returning to a Black Isle Brewery beer today. Perhaps the one I was most excited for simply because I haven’t had a porter in ages! People argue that porters aren’t a summer beer but in my opinion beer is for when you want it. It’s probably the style you can be most creative with and still come out with a good beer. This isn’t any … Continue reading Beer Review: Porter – Black Isle Brewery

Beer Review: Wimbledon Pale – Wimbledon Brewery

Today’s review sees us return to a brewery I haven’t had a beer from in a long while. The last Wimbledon Brewery beer I reviewed was their flagship lager. This time around it’s their pale ale, appropriately titled Wimbledon Pale. I thought their lager was nice but nothing really exceptional, which is the vibe I headed into this beer with. Visually we have a clear … Continue reading Beer Review: Wimbledon Pale – Wimbledon Brewery

Beer Review: Shake Down – Tiny Rebel Brew Co.

This is officially the penultimate post of the Tiny Rebel batch of beers. I technically have two beers left to review but they will be done much in the way of the jam doughnut beers as a double review special. This beer is ‘Shake Down’. It is a Mango Vermont IPA, so those NEIPA flavours should be coming through. Brewed with additional mango it comes … Continue reading Beer Review: Shake Down – Tiny Rebel Brew Co.

Beer Review: Blonde – Black Isle Brewery

Back to the Black Isle core range with their unfiltered lager; Blonde. I’ve got some incredibly funky beers on the way from Fourpure so these classic style beers from Black Isle Brewery are a nice intermediary. This lager comes in at a nice 4.5% ABV. Visually the beer has a straw/gold hue to it. The slightest haze coming from the unfiltered nature of the lager. … Continue reading Beer Review: Blonde – Black Isle Brewery

Beer Review: Pineapple Milkshake – Black Sheep

A new brewery for the reviews but not a new brewery for me personally. Today’s beer is from Black Sheep, a North Yorkshire based outfit, from whom I have had their Milk Stout. Another interesting beer style today in the form of a Milkshake IPA! I’ve seen and heard a bit about the style but never had the chance to try one until now. They … Continue reading Beer Review: Pineapple Milkshake – Black Sheep
